This is a senior seat for an Executive Assistant in Washington DC who wants real autonomy as the trusted right hand to a venture capital firm’s partners. You will make every investor visit, trip and event feel effortless, set the standard for how the firm shows up for its most important relationships, and have room to take on more over time.
Role at a glance
- This is a full-time, on-site Senior Executive Assistant / Chief of Staff role in Washington, DC, in the office five days a week, with four days possible for the right candidate.
- The Senior Executive Assistant / Chief of Staff reports to the Managing Partner of a venture capital firm and supports its small partner team.
- Routine calendar management is handled by an AI scheduling system, so the Senior Executive Assistant / Chief of Staff focuses on high-touch partner support, investor relationships, travel, events and office operations.
- Candidates need several years of experience as an executive assistant supporting senior executives, ideally more than one at a time, and no finance background is required.
- Working hours are flexible and can be arranged around life outside work.
- The hiring process includes an interview with the Managing Partner, a personality assessment and introductions to the partners.

Executive support
- Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted partner for the firm’s partners.
- Personally manage high-touch meetings and visits with key investors and relationships, making sure every detail is flawless.
- Manage correspondence, priorities and follow-ups, and handle sensitive matters with discretion.
- Oversee the firm’s AI scheduling system, confirm it is working correctly and step in wherever a personal touch is needed.
Travel and events
- Plan and manage travel for all partners, including itineraries, bookings and last-minute changes.
- Plan and run firm events end to end, from investor dinners to internal meetings, with event-planner-level organization.
Podcast
- Coordinate the firm’s podcast, including guest scheduling, recording logistics and publishing.
Office and firm operations
- Keep day-to-day operations running smoothly and take ownership of administrative and operational projects.
- Spot gaps, put simple processes in place and follow through without being asked.
